# Step 3 - Receiving Price Recommendations

In order to facilitate the automated price management, PMS/CM must receive the price recommendations from Pricepoint. Price recommendations in Pricepoint are called SELL RATE. Additionally, PMS/CM can send to Pricepoint so-called  BASE RATE.

**SELL RATE** **(required)**– this rate is calculated by Pricepoint’s artificial intelligence and is pushed by Pricepoint to PMS via webhooks. The rate should be further distributed by PMS/CM to OTAs**.** See [**Get Price Recommendations.**](/required-api-calls/get-prices.md)

**BASE RATE (optional)** – this rate is considered a benchmark rate. Pricepoint uses the rate as the input in its intelligence when calculating the sell rate. This rate can be:

* o    Uploaded from PMS via API [Post rates](/api-docs/post-rates-optional.md)

  o    Set up manually in Pricepoint

  o    Calculated and suggested by Pricepoint
